2. Cause of rusting
Stainless steel prevents the penetration of oxygen atoms and oxidation depending on a layer of strong and stable chromium-rich oxide formed on the surface, which provide resistance to corrosion. Once the layer is destroyed for some reason, the oxygen atoms in the air or liquid will continue to infiltrate, forming loose iron oxide, and the metal surface will be continuously corroded.
There are many reasons that can cause the destruction of the layer, and the more common reasons are as follows:
1. During the decoration of new house, cement ash, lime powder, porcelain ash and dust containing iron and acidic substances may fall on the surface of the sink. If the sink is not washed and dried in time, or not used after a few days, slight rust would appear;
2, When decorating the new house, there may be iron scrap and rust water in the pipes. When these impurities stain the surface of the sink and are not washed out in time, rust spots and water stain will show up;
3, Organic sap, such as melon, soup, will react with aerobic water and produce an organic acid. When the organic acid corrodes the metal surface for a long time, it produces rust spots on the surface of the stainless steel .
1, Use the “Five Cleansing Powder” given or buy a cleaning care cream to wipe the surface of the sink;
2, Get a soft towel wet and apply to it a little powder or cleansing cream; use it to wipe back and forth around the rust spots or the discoloration parts; if you need to use a hard tool to scrub, please use a scouring pad
3. After cleaning, rinse the sink, then dry the surface with a clean towel.
Please install the sink after the completion of the civil engineering to avoid damage to the surface of the sink caused during the decoration，for example, not wash the sink after use, pour chemicals such as paint into the water tank, and not cover the surface for protection.
